Apache and Redhat are PR10 because of all those webpages where Redhat linux was installed, but not configured. They have links to Redhat and the doc page and Apache. Millions and millions of them I suppose... heh heh.

having the ultimate software (download), would get "anyone" a PR10 and be worth more Pagerank wise than the most reknown brands.

Those are only the top level index.html, and how many of those have any backlinks?

Just the apache home page has 55,400 qualified backlinks. Those aren't default pages.

Now start going through the apache.org site and doing link: on each page. Almost every page on their site has hundreds or thousands of quality external backlinks, and all those pages point to the home page.

Everyone in the world who is explaining how to set up your apache server or one of the dozens apache projects will be linking to that site. Including many of the other PR9 and PR10 sites.
