internal network versus external network

Suppose you have a network of sites through which users flow and generates great traffic so you cross the heck of your sites, linking them together, google things its a farm and penalizes all your pages, my question is does it really matter if your traffic doesn't come from google and you don't care about google (in effect you snub google). This is of course in the special cases where your traffic is both typein or from other external links & directories....

If you can survive without relying on traffic from the major search engines, more power to you! :)

your using the links for what they were intentionally meant, helping (;)) visitors.

why not use javascript links for 95% of these links? Google will still like you and send you free visitors.

You have to make the link look something like this:

<A href="javascript:top.location=wheretolinkto.htm">link text</A>

(so my guy tells me, but check on a google search to be sure)

instead of:

<A href="wheretolinkto.htm">link text</A>

just one caution, there those that have javascript disabled.
