Link Farms Rule?

After years of not using link farms because Google doesn't like them I am now considering them as one of the only ways to achieve top listings for competetive keyphrases.

I have been monitoring several that appear at the very top for 1 word keyphrases that are very, very, very competetive and I know that these guys are making between $10,000 and $15,000 per month from sales.

Not bad for an investment of $80 join!

Surley there must be a way to stop this from happening?

HIPO, link farms can help in Google, but there's a risk of joining one.

Some people are happy with the risk if they think they can make a quick buck; others take a long term view and don't want to risk a severe Google penalty. Slow and steady wins the race...often, anyway

Why would you even want too? Why not go join the ring?

There's a zillion link exchanges out there. Most have been made to look like something else. (eg: when is an awards program not a links program?)
