The site is question is PR4 and I know that around 45-50 sites are linking to it, of which several are PR5 and above. A link:url search showed these results last month, but not any more.... no links at all being shown now.

I've just manfully (personfully if you prefer political correctness)waded through all the posts since the update, plus run some post searches... and I can't find anything specific on why this happens.

Having ploughed a lot of valuable manhours into meeting Google's criteria for good inbound links, it would be good to see if those efforts have been successful. An offer to pay Google Answers is not quite the response I was after.

What criteria does Google now apply before showing links? Anything definite known?

I mentioned this in another thread. Site was penalized (really think it still is despite the jump to PR5 last month). Back links and related started showing up again last month and just a few internal pages due to everflux, probably. Now - back links and related are gone again and no more internals showing up. Site is still showing PR5, though.

Also strange - home page fluctuates between #1 or #3 for main kw, but sometimes the directory category doesn't show in the results. Never seen that happen before.

All the links to my site dissapeared this month!! I can't see why it would have been penalized, as I have been very careful to do everything according to the 'rules' .

The only things I can imagine are
- previous month I had a lot more pages that were indexed (all linking back to the main page). this month I cut that down -- don't see why that would make any difference apart from maybe showing a few less links..

- my site was down for about 45 hours for the last few days.. (possibly when it was updating).. still don't see how that would effect links though..

Any ideas, it's very frustrating!
