Subdomains worries

I run a small hosting company. If my clients decide not to buy a domain name I give them a subdomain of my main domain (i.e. theirname.mycompany.com)

One of my customers who falls into this category has graciously put a link to my main site at the bottom of all of his pages. What i'm worried about is that Google thinks i'm an evil webmaster and penalises me :(

Can anybody explain if i'm worrying over nothing or if I have inadvertantly joined the dark side :)

I think we can get a bit paranoid around here. Somehow I can't imagine a link or two back to you from your subdomains would hurt.

The same goes for links from sites with little or no PR. I can't see that Google would care unless those sites are really doing something shady. I'm certainly not going to write to all the webmasters that have linked to my sites from pages below PR4 and ask them to take the links down.
