Here's a brain twister for ya!

Site not listed, but somebody reached it through Google

My site is definitely not on Google right now (it dropped off over the weekend). I have done various searches for key phrases and the domain name and such. Yet today, on my traffic counter, I noted that somebody accessed my site through Google using certain keywords from the site. How did *that* happen? Speaking of keywords, do the keywords on the index page need to actually appear on that page or can they be buried in articles linked to from that page? Thanks, as always!

Do you have keywords in the url?

People can click on "Find Web Pages that Contain the Term" while searching for URLs to see if they have been included. The referral would lool like:

[google.com...]

My guess:

The fresh bot made a visit and you are in the db, temporarily.

Google changes its index instantly. One day you're in, next minute out. No need to worry at all! Thats n*o*r*m*a*l. Wait, be patient ... it's a search service, not mac donalds ;)

Since when your site's listed at google? If it's not at least a month old, you'll see a lot of changes even after the next big update. If you just mean new pages (not a complete new domain / site) than you're pages will also move a lot within the next couple o weeks. I made 12 new pages at saturday - in at monday - out today, so!? Phhhh, stay cool. Other "dropped" pages (new since last week, "dropped" at the weekend) found their way back today. It's normal. Just build your site and forget google ... just for a while. ;)

If you don't cheat there's no need to stress!

try to type your domain name in search box... google will tell you that the site do not exist in the database, but "If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: yourdomain.com". Just click on "yourdomain.com" and you have visitor from google.
