I am thinking of how Google best interprets links.

If on a site we have new artciles every day and on one page summarises these articles.

Is it best to link to the full story from the summary page by a link :

1) Read More or Full Story or whatever
2) Or by literally linking the entire 10 - 20 word summary to the full story?

I ask because if I go for option 2 then that would mean that there is hardly no un linked text anywhere on that page. Would this be a problem or does Google see text in a 5 - 20 word link as text?

Thank you.

Link via the most meaningful words, which should also be the article's title, which if possible the most relevant keywords or keyphrase.

Read More or Full Story is rather meaningless and the whole descriptive paragraph would dilute all the potential from the anchor text.

Thanks fathom.

If I do as I suggest then I will have hardly no text on the page at all just links (although some will contain a lot of text. ) Will this be a problem?

Keep the same amount of text on the page being linked from - just keep the link anchor text [webmasterworld.com] short and to the point, or use just the main focus of the whole story to link to as I have done with this paragraph.
