Site appears to have vanished from Google

and therefore Yahoo, and AOL Search, and so on, and so on......

Well, my site was comming up on page 1 for most of my search terms as early as last week. Now, suddenly, it's gone. It doesn't seem to be buried on a page deep in the results, it's just gone. Google Toolbar still shows my same PR of 5, so why would my site just suddenly vanish without a change in the PR?

This is killing me, since now I can't find it in Yahoo or AOL Search or any of the others that use Google. Any help I can get would be greatly appriceated.

I could lose my job over this.... :(

How long was this site in Google? This can be normal if it has been less than a month or so. And, I'd say get a new job. Google just "loses" sites for no good reason with regularity for a month. Even happened to me. Having a job that depends on Google not being buggy is perilous.

was your site listed before last week?

if not your listing was probably just part of the everflux of changing results, especially if it was new. (or possibly a freshbot listing.)

wait to see what happens with your listings after the refresh in a few days, if you still are not listed after the update then you can go and find a sturdy rafter. :-)

hope that cheers you up!

I've been in the Google directory for about 3 months now, so I don't think it's the fresh bot. Could it have something to do with the update?

If I don't figure this out soon, my only choice may be to find a new job.....

Even if this site is banned, it will still be listed in the DMOZ/Google directory unless dmoz.org removes it. You say the toolbar shows a PR5. Have you tried searching using text strings that would only match the pages on this site to see if it is totally out, and not just buried?

I typed in my own domain name and came up at #5 on the results page. So I guess it must just be the whole way at the bottom of the 200+ list for all my other keywords. -_- But what would cause that to happen? Google is so darn confusing......
