If you've been listed in the ODP for a couple of months, you should come up in Google after the next dance. It seems as if you should have been in after the last one, but I suppose it all depends on whether you came in right after the deep crawl. It's hard to tell.
In the past, my sites were listed in Google within a month of being listed in the ODP (some even, that aren't listed in the ODP), but my last one took a couple of months, even longer to get pagerank.
Concentrate on getting as many relevant back links as you can (the higher the PR the better), and be patient. We're expecting a dance any time now, and you might be in on this one. Good luck.
wantoknow, if you don't already have the Google toolbar, download it and get some quality
inbound links with decent PR.
Respectfully I must disagree with Marcia, why would you want to dl the Google tool bar? Unless you want Google to know all the sites you visit and what ever other personal information the tool bar is collecting at this time. IMO the only people that benefit from the use of the Google tool bar is Google.
If his/her site is listed in the ODP Google will pick it up next deep crawl. No Google tool bar is needed.
I think there has been a general agreement that Google PR is vastly overrated and for the most part people should disregard the PR of a page when requesting links (what should be considered is if the page you are asking for a link from will benefit your users)
I care to disagree with your reply in relation to the Toolbar.
Its a valuable tool, especially for a webmaster who is learning the whole Google game.
can provide assistance in finding who to ask links from (Pr9s) and who to keep away from (PR0s)
Every webmaster who I have recommended the toolbar to has only ever praised it, and never made a negative comment.
so cut the girl some slack :)

How so? Can you give some examples of how this tool bar is useful to Webmasters besides just checking a pages PR?
Security is always an issue on the web (at least I think so) and yes Google allows you turn off the advanced features that do track your actions. I guess I should have stated that in my first post.
its obviously clear from the original poster of this thread, that certain commands which we take for granted in these forums (backlinks, PR, similar sites) are NOT used by everyone.
Toolbar makes it very easy for a novice to get a feeling for certain parts of the google angle from an SEO/webmaster perspective,

i often use the "category"-button to find related websites.
very useful the button to go one folder up (i used to edit address field)
or "pageinfo"-button to view cached version, translate website...
i like it and i'm looking forward to get a version for mozilla.

might be counter to Google
Oh no, one of my first posts was to tell googleguy off personally about a comment he made regarding web standards ;)
I shouldn't think anyone would try to hack you because of your opinions though, maybe coincidence? -- Room for all types of opinion here, and yours is just as valid as mine or anyone elses.
Actually I rather think your point about security is an interesting one. What do they gather? What do they do with it? -- Makes me wonder...

Keeping on site building. The more quality content and quality links you have, the better and faster Google will come back.
Any time you get a lull in the action, use it as an opportunity to flush out content.

Also good if you support the Folding at home project.
One more thing about the original question. DMOZ has been having problems for the "couple of months" you mention. The only thing to say having to do with the Google Directory and/or DMOZ regarding the past two months is "wait". Something is broken for everybody and they are working to fix it.
