Hi, recently my site changed from Widgets/Fan Pages which has over 65 sites in this category to Widgets/Chat and Forums which has only 5 sites in this category now, including mine.

I did not request the category change.

My questions are: Does anyone know if this will have any affect on my Google listing? Is it better to be listed in a subcategory with more or less sites?

Right now I'm pretty happy with how my sites doing for my keywords so i hope this DMOZ category change doesnt have any bad effects come next Google update!

Thanks!

It may.
It may not.
Do you know the PR of both pages?

I am no expert in PR but yes it is not good.
Don't worry too much we have many listing with low PR on the 1st page above high PR.

If you sticky me the URL and cats I will look to see if it is worth appealing to the ED.

Seems quite clear cut: you should not be listed in the chat/forums cat as your site is a lot more than just these areas.

As no ed is listed go email the ed who is listed in the "mother" cat. Failing this email a meta.

If you ask nicely you may get what you want.
