Changed hosting package, now no freshbot.

A few days ago I changed my hosting package to allow for extra bandwidth. As a result of this my host has changed the IP address for my site which I didn't think they would do as I am still using the same host. Now I am not getting hit by the freshbot and so none of my new pages are getting found. Is there any way I can coax the freshbot to come crawling at my new IP address quicker than it would normally.

I am presuming by the time the next deep crawl comes around googlebot will have figured out where I am, which is the most important thing. Am I correct in thinking this?

Don't be too sure, googlebot is very bad about caching DNS information way longer than it should. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about that.

Can your ISP give you back your old IP?

At least make sure your DNS info in the 'whois' is up to speed.

Thanks for the advice! I've emailed my host to see if I can get my old IP back.

I did this last month about this time. I didn't get any new fresh updates for the rest of the month after I switched ips.

At the next deep crawl googlebot found everything and now I am getting fresh updates again. I used the add url feature on google for a couple sites that I changed, I guess it didn't hurt.
