I have a site that uses all .aspx pages. On those pages the PR is greyed out.

I added some .htm pages for some new topics and right away they have a PR one lower than the root.

Does google have a problem with the .aspx pages

Thanks in advance

I usually try to hide the underlying technology so it doesn't appear in the url. It is of no use to the user to know that a page is made with asp, php, perl, whatever. That way you can change the way you make the pages without breaking links and you have more freedom of choice when better technologies appear in the future.

Just scanned the net for sites and all .aspx pages had a grey bar!

Not great but for pages such as www.mysite.com/default.aspx they seemed to be ranked with there page rank taken into account.

Anyone else havesome better answer than that, my deskmate is currently redoing are entire site into ASP.NET

seindal:

How is that done. You set up directories for each page?

I am a little confused.

Thanks

I manage the servers myself (I work as a sysadm and consultant), so I usually have the possibility to fiddle around with the server configuration.

It can be done with mod_rewrite in apache, but there must be something similar in IIS, but I can't help you there. That is not my realm and I plead incompetent :-)
