I know DMOZ had some problems in October but what about the directory update within google itself? Can anyone give me a statement on this? Are we going to get any update after the next big crawl?

As it's been so far, Google updates the index around the same time as they update the webindex, i think they can get the RDF dump from DMOZ pretty well, i'm not sure how old it is when they get it (how old the RDF dump is)

To see the previous dates of the update visit the Google Update history [webmasterworld.com]

But i think DMOZ would do all they can to provide Google with a fresh RDF dump, it's great publicity for them.

yeah, already know that link but thanks ;)

I just wondered why Google didn't update it's directory last month after the update begun til now or maybe it's just like you said, they did get an RDF dump too late for the latest cats to be included.

Hm, actually the dump has to be over 4 weeks old since I added a category a while back in dmoz and it's not yet in googles structure.

Yes, and DMOZ have done very many changes in the category structure, so hopefully we will see a better DMOZ dump the upcomming update.

I noticed a lot with the latest update, that if you change directory.google.com to dmoz.org, you quite often get this category doesn't exist (due to the re-structure of dmoz)
