Hey guys, has anybody tried using google's api to power the site search?

If one needs to serve more than 1k queries per day, how much would that cost?

Sound interesting and I gave it some thought. Then I reread the API TOS. The way I read it, putting stuff online using the API in that manner is a violation.

I know. That's why I'm wondering how much it would cost to license that.

There is nothing specific on google's site.

When I read over the tos I think it can be done , but it has to be a something more than just pure google. when reading over the readme that came with the API there was a small section about suggested uses and one was "build a cool UI". Only problem with using the web api for something like this is you are limited to 1000 searches a day. But no harm in emailing them.
