My dilemna:
When I request a link from another site, most likely I will not be able to get them to place a hyperlink that says "Tabke Productions - video editing and sound engineering". Therefore, it seems apparent that I would be at a disatvantage against a company named Video Editing Services, Inc.
Just how important is the incoming link text?
What can I do to compete against Video Editing Services, Inc.?

Anchor text of internal links.
Make it as easy as possible for them to use your favored link. I often preformat the code snippet that would fit best on a page. Adding the proper tags according to the existing page's source code. "Look how easy it would be to just cut & paste this in!"

Insist that they use the full link as you have had complaints before from Tabke (that other big high street name) and they say you must be called Tabke Blue Widgets to differentiate your site from theirs. Hey it worked with Yahoo and ODP! who wants to infringe on trademarks!
Oh yes...im bad but the small boys have to be street wise
