When I search google for my company name, there is a site overseas that has taken the content of my home page and others and then added a meta refresh to it. So google has indexed it but the casual surfer gets redirected. Should I be worried about this?

If it were me I would report it to google. This is not really a spam complaint, but a copyright issue. Send the website an email telling them to stop.

Chinook,

That's happened to my site more times than I like to remember. Google catches many of these on it's own. If you want to find lots more, search AllTheWeb.com.

There's a process. Send a spam report to Google, and also fax Google a DMCA notice of infringement. You can get their fax number at [google.com...] and the instructions for creating the notice are here: [google.com...] Of course, then you'll see your notice published at [chillingeffects.org...] shortly, so get yourself in a calm state of mind before writing the note.

Repeat the process for every other search engine that shows those results.

That seems like a lot of work to do! The biggest concern for me is if it can "hurt" my rankings.

Well, it has already hurt your rankings for your company name, hasn't it?

For those who are using redirects, you will probably have success by just sending a spam report to Google. You might also do a search for your company name and click on the link at the bottom of the page that says "Help us to improve" and report them there.

Google is deluged with spam reports. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Besides copyright and the other issues mentioned in this thread, I would think of dublicate content on more domains, that could get you punished.
