Finding backward links

If the link is less than PR4...

I'm doing some research to try and find out why a particular site ranks high for a (rather broad) set of keywords.

Site has 25 pages, homepage toolbar ranking of 5, no detectable spam.

I search for "link:www.site.com" and come up with backlinks from the 24 other pages on the site (all have toolbar PR4, with a couple of 5s), and one related site.

Check the related site, toolbar PR5.

How do I find out how many PR1, PR2, and PR3 sites link to it? It would have to be lots, I would imagine.

Try "link.all:www.site.com" at FAST, it'll usually show quite a few more links than Google displays.

You can search in Google for "www.mysite.com" in quotes - or "mysite.+com" (quotes optional).

If you're only interested in back links, you can ask Google to exclude internal links like this:

mysite.+com -site:mysite.com

It only returned 10, but they were 10 that Google -didn't- list, filling in the missing piece of the puzzle.

Thanks!

Sorry for my late answer - I forgot to check the thread.

The search would be: widgets.+com -site:widgets.com

That search gives me 2,110 hits.
(widgets.com is a real domain name, I hope the moderators will forgive me :) )

try out the linkpop tool at marketleap.com
It returns results for google, aol, fast, alta, hotbot, msn and a few more.
