The BIG G in the url

Has anyone seen googles new emblem

check it out..they now have the big g in the url field like yahoo has the red Y.. I want one for my site.. I have a branded name out here on the web.. How can I create one? Do I have to have billions to get one of them..pout pout...

ohh and why arent they working on fixing the link back problems..instead they are making themselves look pretty.. I dunno.. wheres googleguy to come calm us down?

What you are seeing is not new. It's called a "favicon", short for favorites icon.

You must have bookmarked Google recently; that's when the favicons show up.

For more info do a WebmasterWorld site search for "favicon". They don't cost a thing to set up!

It,s very easy. Just make sure you do it correctly and save the multi-size .ico file instead of just one for the 16x16 icon. You will have much better luck with it working.

You will also have to learn how to clear the windows icon registry or you will have trouble seeing it while testing each time you add it to favorites.

Every day in my site logs I get a few "file not founds" for favicon.ico. You mean all these people could have had my cheesy icon on their favourites list?

Ditto Bobmark.. I am soooooooooo glad that I am not the only one that avoids updating like the plague.. I would ssoooooooooooooooooooo much rather be doing graphic artist work if youll call it that

I think you have a better chance at being struck by lightning..hahaa.. I totally hear you... especially the long hours.. man.. I am used to being such a slacker.. had a cushy job in the medical field where if I worked 8 hours that was a rough day... now I work 15 hours 5 days a week and saturday I do about 8 and sunday anywhere from 8-10... lost one girl this way... so I replaced her.. now this one wants to help all the time... dont trust anyone to the golden website though... hahaa...

hahaa.. I hate when that happens.. when you type up all this stuff and loose it and then you try thinking it so you can rewrite it and it just dosent come out the same cause you totally cant remember it all.. hate that!

Well yeah.. if she comes on here it will be on to #3 but I tease her like that all the time... actually I asked her how she would like to go see Canada and learn web design and SEO.. still no response though... ahh maybe this weekend ill be sleeping out in the nice cold air... getting in touch with nature would never hurt though.. hey no computers atleast..haha.. anyway..
