Ha Ha, I am kinda very happy today :)

Our site seems to be really blessed by Google (in positive manner). Since the day one, we are seeing good page rank and with every update, PageRank seems to be increasing by +1, I hope this will stop only when it reaches PR10 (think positive :) ).

Log for yesterday (total hit for yesterday = 4600) (Site start date: first week of june 2002)

# of Searches --- %% ----- Search Engine
1108 ---------- 75.1% --- GOOGLE
302 ---------- 20.4% --- YAHOO!
31 ---------- 2.10% --- MSN(US)
25 ---------- 1.69% --- ALTAVISTA
...............
...............

Now with this update we have PR6 (that is what toolbar says :) ), so I am hoping it is going to make the site little more busy :)

Keep up the good work Google (I mean increasing PR for our site, and as always good serp ;) )

I hope everyone has the similer (or better :) ) update.

You of course realise that 96% of your se business is coming from one unreliable, unpredictable source.

I always encourage webmasters to seek a broad base of traffic. Definitely go and pay more attention to optimizing for the other search engines out there. :)

Wow, i would be really afraid if i had those numbers, as soon as any of my sites start to close in to a 50% traffic from Google i sit down and optimise if for some other engines.

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket [webmasterworld.com]

Is a really good thread about optimising for more than Google, and some of the members have had a lot of sites banned from Google, and i tell it's been good in my experience you try to find new sources for traffic, and believe me it's out there.

So i would try in your case to look at your position at other search engines, and try to figure out how they rank etc, because they have traffic too, even though Google today dominates the market they may not be in 2 years, and then that traffic source is gone.

I agree!

My experience is that if your site ranks fine on Google, ranks fine everywhere..

In these days optimization seems:

- excellent content (the more page you have, the better results)
- good link popularity (targeted links)
- good page optimization

I can see several sites that use technics close to spam that have not been penalized because have good link popularity and excellent content.

Doesn't it almost seem like a normal, natural thing that the people that frequent this forum, would be mostly happy with this update? :)

I've been here a little over a month... picked up alot of good stuff, and happy to say i just went from page #5 for my sites main keyword to page #2 in this update! Thanks alot in part to WW and to the great people who post here!
