Linkfarm?

I've seen these guys everywhere - is their value genuine?

I've seen linkstoyou.com on quite a bit of places. They are quite blatantly a link farm with a twist though. They have you upload a myriad of categorical link pages to your domain and link to them off your homepage. That way if Google slams linkstoyou, it won't affect the farm. Additionally, the filenames change monthly so Google can ban a poarticular document URL either.

Its' obvious what they are doing, especially since they constantly change their file names. However, in looking at some of the categorical pages one could argue there may be a genuine value there. For example, I looked at the real estate category and saw a list of real estate websites. While they weren't celarly broken down by geographical region, they did resemble a SERP you may see from some directory or a broad search such as 'real estate'.

My questions is, what is everyone's opinion of LinksToYou? Would Google PR0 you for using it? Would Google even care?

The problem I have is while some may argue it has a bona fide value, why is it every website I see links to it via small, obscure icons on the bottom of their websites. If it was genuinely valuable content, don't you think it would at least get more prominent placement? Or at least be in the main copy of the page?
