After a year of having my site up I have a 0 score for Google and all other search engines; Iam so depressed about this and don't know what to do. Have I been penalized?
Iam going to change the first HTML line to reflect a doctype declaration.
If I made a mistake, how can i fix it; I didn't mean to do anything wrong
Please help !
Thank you

You don't seem to have any in bound links... no-one is pointing to your site. You are unlikely to rank highly unless you address this. For starters, try submitting to a couple of directories, both general and vertical.
This also explains why you are not in FAST byt the way.
There's lots of information also in the
Google Knowledge Base [webmasterworld.com]
While we have a policy of not doing individual site reviews, but rather staying with principles so everyone can gain, there are really only a few basics needed to get started, and then you can go on from there.
The foundation of Google's scoring is Page Rank, so it's important to have good quality incoming links to your site, since your PR depends on the value of pages linking to you.
Then, it's just making a good site utilizing basic techniques to choose the best keywords and use them in the right places to adequately reflect the relevancy of each page for the keywords reflected by the content of the pages. Search engine optimization is not really rocket science, it's very logical in its simplest form, and while it's a progressive skill over time and grows with experience, those new to it can and do succeed with their sites by using the basics.

We do not do individual people's sites, but you do have one inbound PR2 link from what's obviously a page done by SE marketing people, with a load of links on it.
The best approach is to work on good, legitimate links and anything done for your site should be done ON your site, which now you know. And you've come to the right place; we've had numerous people reporting that after reading and participating here their sites achieved success after only a few months of study and applying what they learned.
Dig in and start reading, and of course always feel free to ask questions about specific points and topics as they come up. That way everyone learns and you'll be pleasantly surprised with your rankings in a short time.
How can I see for myself ther ranking
Easy, just download and install the Google Toolbar [toolbar.google.com].
It will give you a pretty good idea of your PR and you'll also be able to check your backlinks, among some other cool features.
Hope that helps.

The feedback is slow. Basically (I am grossly oversimplifying) Google examines the whole web once a month, digests the results, and again once a month updates its index. If you make a change to your site after Google has examined it you will have to wait about six weeks to see the results. Not good for those who want instant graftification!
