Should I use keywords in naming my pictures?

I'm building my first web site focused on seo. Should I name my jpegs and gifs with keywords? If the site was about widgets... then should I name the logo gif: widgets.gif?

Never done any research on it but it wouldn't harm you to do something like:

widget-logo.gif

Keep 'em understandable but also bear keywords in mind ;)

Sure. I do it a lot.

It doesn't hurt, and it certainly makes maintaining image directories easier.
