Perhaps an expert here can help me. I'm trying to create a customized keyword search for google news. Either for bookmark or if it really works as my new homepage. Here's the idea:

Theme 1:
Want= stars, astronomy, galaxy, space
minus=celebs, astrology, entertainment

Theme 2:
want=Electromagentism, electricity, ELF, EMF
minus=romance, fire

Theme 3:
want=archaeology, mythology
minus=disney movies,atlantis

I tried several permutations and couldn't get one to work. I had to go one theme at a time or wind up with no results. Any way to combine this into one meaningful search so I get all the news I want, anytime? Thanks!

P.S. Wouldn't it be cool to have a [my.google.com...] page where google helps me create different themes, then you can click on a particular story and say I like this type of story, I don't like this type of story...maybe then be prompted for keywords within that story to check or uncheck to help refine a personalized news page?

Sorry, Heretic, you're not going to be able to do this. Google news has a ten query word limit, just like the regular Google search.

You can combine two of them, which would look like this:

(archaeology ¦ mythology ¦ electromagnetism ¦ electricity ¦ ELF ¦ EMF) -disney -atlantis -romance -fire

The ¦ means OR.

Quick question - do they have a "feed" like Moreover's that I can add to my site?

You mean in RSS format? I don't think so. There is an application out there that generates RSS feeds from Google News searches but it's agin Google's TOS.

It wasn't a typo; I was trying to be cute. I failed. :->
