Fresh updates so sporadic

Any pattern?

For the past month or so fresh updates were happening almost daily. Now, I havent seen a fresh date stamp on any site (except news sites) since the 7th. Why are these so sporadic? I have noticed that the number of sites containing my domain (determined by clicking "number of webpages containing the term www.mydomain.com") differ by about 30% on www2 and www3 than on www. This started a few days ago and has always happened in the past right before an update. So I have sorta felt that we may have an early update this month which might explain the fewer refreshes over the past few days. Just a guess. LOL

I think you just caused about 15,000 webmasters to rush back to work trying to get their last minute changes in. LOL

I have certainly been seeing the freshbot hitting my site, but I'm not sure if I have changed any of the pages that the freshbot hits in the last week.

I see the fresh listings now on www2 and www3. Interestingly, they changed the date format from 11 Oct. 2002 (I think) to Oct. 11, 2002.

I think they restored the normal fresh rates on 16th.

Yes, this is the only way to get into Google before an update.

try a generic term such as "music" or "love"

In the german index nearly every site had the Fresh Tag since Oct. 16.
I thought about it 3 long days and nights, but I can not imagine what they want to achieve with this.
