Interlinking Exact Question

All this reading about the dangers of interlinking sites have me nervous and confused.

I do web development and have 10 sites that I have done listed and linked to the respective sites on my company's site root page (lets call it mycompany.com). Every single site has a link at the bottom back to mycompany.com - is this a problem? Can Google ban all my sites because they interlink?

I am talking about 10 sites, what about 20 or 30?

I did the sites, so I think it is fair to get credit for it at the bottom.

What do you think?

I also have a link to my site, on all the sites I have designed (9) and it doesnt seem to have harmed me in any way...at present that is :)

Google will not ban you for interlinking that way.

That should cause no problems.

You would get kicked in the Pagerank, however, if you added a link to EVERY Web site on EVERY Web site root page. That is cross-linking. That is not good.

i was slightly concerned about this as well (i posted a similar topic yesterday) - and ive only 2 sites!

If google cant distinguish between people linking their own sites (be it at the foot of the pages credit to the author of the site or in a bio) and spammers interlinking all their sites like crazy, then im not losing sleep over it! :)

Theres way too much emphasis goin on about the importance of Google - everyone here helped to create the false God by carrying on so much and optimising their sites for Google.

If they just kicked back and designed sites for their users, then none of this would be an issue just now!

But no! Pagerank this, pagerank that!
