Question on linking sites together?

I have the following examples
Several sites that are pr6, pr5, pr4, and pr2's.

I have a hub site on widgets that is a pr2 with links categorized to red widgets, blue widgets, green widgets and so on. My high rankings are in all of the colored link categories.

I have never submitted these sites to google, it has always found them on their own.

My question is as followed:

Do I link my Pr2 to pr6 sites or link pr6 sites to pr2 sites?
Is it best to try and raise the relevancies to pr6 or pr2?

This may seem like a easy question but I am new to these discussions and I have read many many forums over the past few days...

It is always best to proced with caution when linking within your sites.

If it was me I would link the PR6 to the PR2 because a PR2 is not going to make a lot of difference to your PR6. On the other hand if you link your PR6 to your PR2 it will almost certainly end up with at least a PR4.

Be very carefull though!

Welcome to WebmasterWorld and the Google forum, Bubbafla.

There are several issues involved, as I'm sure you're aware; not only for ranking and Page Rank issues, but also for sending direct traffic between the sites.

mack's absolutely right about proceeding with caution, and there are a number of posts around that refer to your situation. You're basically dealing with a hub site (the main one) and spokes - the individual ones. Here's one discussion about that, and ciml explains it for us:

There are others on the subject, and you might also want to do some research on back threads about cross-linking. You'll find plenty using the site search and by going back through this forum.
