Do redirect URLs such as those through affiliate networks boost PR or are they ignored by Google when calculating PR?

G follows just about ever kind of link there is short of javascript. Even?url=realdestination.com are followed, but most think there is something about them that doesn't pass on any or much of the pr. There are definately some qualifiers at work in the algo depending on the page, the page it's linking to, it's pr and the length of the cgi url.
