Six-Day Old Site Already Indexed

6 days ago i made a site live. The domain has never been owned by anyone else. Today it is in the index and recieving referrals based on the keywords it is optimized for. I have been doing this 2 years and never seen anything like this. Any idea what is going on?

That would be nice...I just cant make heads or tails of this...spidered this weekend and added to the index yesterday. Anyone know why google is breaking the rules with this one?

I don't think its a case of breaking the rules, but, more like changing the rules. This is part of the everflux as it was recently termed. Google has made leaps and bounds in regards to fresh content. These last 45 days have seen some great improvements.

Hey Creep,

I am guessing you have linked to your new site from a site that has a pagerank of atleast 5 and recieves "fresh tags" often. I have been in a "web site launch mode" for about two weeks ago and am seeing the same thing. Infact one new site has already generated two referral sales. Now that is nice ;-)

Got to love the google fresh tags.

Fresh Tags?

This is news to me.. a google fresh tag? Someone please explain and how to do it and if it will hurt any other engines?

I got the same thing. Certain pages got refreshed pretty quick but not all.

At the footer of every page, I stamped a date/time just to know when my site was indexed.

This is what they used to be labeled when Google first started using them. They've since dropped the Fresh and it now looks like this at the end of your description in the SERP's (Search Engine Results Pages).

lawman, if your previous site is still live and in good standing, just add a link to the home page (unless it's a mirror).

Thanks Hunter. Previous site is alive and in good standing. New site is definitely NOT a mirror site - virtually all new material. I have links to new site in three appropriate places on old site. I am patient.

Hey guys, maybe some of us should not be too happy about it.

What if (and I truly hope not), Google is moving to a different crawl/update model?
I have one new site with several thousand pages all of which were crawled about a month ago. And then, 35 pages were crawled last week.
That 35 page are now in the index with a date, but no sign of the other 2.5k pages.

So what if Google no longer updates sites like it used to (up to several links deep), but just keeps adding pages slowly but sooner?

That would mean I have to wait for several years to get my site completely indexed but in return, all the pages would be fresh.

Oh, I hope I'm just paranoid.

Same here, i took 3 days to make a site within the last week. Linked to it from a PR6 site of mine and am already getting hits. It seems if you have a site with a PR5 of higher and update it on a normal basis, Google will visit you more often, hence the fresh dates. So it seems you just have to link to a new site from the site that keeps getting visits.

I am really impressed with Google and it's speed in adding new pages. I've brought 3 new sites online in the last 3 weeks and they are all indexed and showing in the serps without PR. I am just amazed at seeing every new page of mine show up the day after they go live. I can even change the title tag and it changes a couple days later in the serps.

The only problem is I have had a tendincy of bringing sites online a month early to get crawled and then show up in the serps the next month. Well now that google likes to just throw new sites in to the serps, I have 2 sites in google that aren't ready for orders. My boss has been yelling at me because the phone keeps ringing with people trying to order stuff we don't have yet.

I guess his problems could be much worse - Tons of products and no orders :)
