Repetition of links on the main page,does it harm !

hello all,
I have a index page in which the link to 5 main sub pages is given ...but due to a designing factor this entire set is repeated twice ( links to sub pages are there on index page twice..) does this brings a -ve feed back to the index page in any way.

I would doubt this.

Many home pages have graphical images (a flag e.g.) linking to a page followed by a descriptive text link towards the same page.

On internal pages many pages would have a "home" linking to the homepage, but also the logo linking to the homepage.
