We keep calling this everflux the mid-cycle update and in the next breath talk about the impending update. How can we be mid-cycle if were at the end of it too. There is definitely something strange as my entire site has had a fresh stamp on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd and the index page on the 18th. Its only a pr 5 with pr4 interior pages. Sure there may be an update that means your current backlinks will show up and stuff like that. That doesn't mean the pr associated with those backlinks aren't being added in as they're found in the continuous crawls. Even the backlinks could be updated as quickly as the serps currently are. So maybe the update, if not a thing of the past, is going to lose importance in time.

Disclaimer: These views don't represent the views of me;)

Just thought I would throw it in the air and see what would come down.

Aside; does anyone else feel these continuos updates are providing minty freshness at the expense of consistency?

i 'know' that a fresh www will be there before 5-11, since that's the way it always has been.

Really the updates your talking about are 'updates' of the title and description and is usefull, but not as important as the backlinks beiing added to the grand backlinks total list.

Where's the good old time that we could go to www2 and take a peek at our new rank?

I think constant updating is the way forward. One update a month was giving far too stale results for some things.
