After neglecting my domain for a couple of years (hobby mostly) I started working on it again at the end of August. I was starting to get worried because Google was not listing it. In fact, according to the Google Bar I had a rating of 0/10 and the cache was dated 1999. Today, I searched again and was not only able to find it under the domain name, but also after a keyword combination that I was hoping would work.

Granted, my site comes up #50 when searching for the keyword, but I am hoping that it is mostly penalty for my new shiny 1/10 rating, which although much better than the 0/10 I had is still pitiful.

Do you guys think that there is any special benefit in submitting more than one page to the site? I submitted my root (which defaults to the index.html) hoping that the spider would get around and even though the site is only 20 pages right now, I do not want any to be missed.

BTW, reading this board gave me some good ideas, thanks.

welcome to webmasterworld!
the community is growing :-)

I guess you need more incoming links to your site. If your root / is linked nicely with the rest of your content, that should be enough. Just ask some friends to give you some inbounds...
