Hello,
I need some feeback what you guys this of my linking strategy.
I have about 20 domains (mostly related to the same theme but each site has different content) and i am thinking about placing links to each of the other sites in the footer on each web site's pages, especially the front page. Basically all the sites will be linked to each other. I have read that this is the easiest way for google to detect spamming, since creating fake domains is a popular trick to use to try to raise the google scores, hoping to make it appear that other domains are linking to you.

Can someone shed light if that is true and if there will be any penalty on this linking strategy before i go ahead with it. Thanks!

Hi agapes,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld

Unless each site has atrong inbound linkage from sites out of your network, it probably wouldn't be a wise thing to do.

You might want to try doing a search for "artifical linking." That should pull up several past threads on the topic.

Picture a big alarm bell - sounding very loudly and above it a giant red flashing screen "DO NOT DO THIS YOU WILL GET A PENALTY ACROSS THOSE DOMAINS!" ;)
