Doesn't Google Overdo its Own Cloaking?

I cannot reach some pages

when i query "pagerank" an adwords ad comes up advertising the URL www.google.com/jobs [google.com]. when i click on it i get 8 jobs in germany, france and UK.

but what if i was just planning to get a job in california? there is no (normal) way to get around google's cloaking and see the original page! ok, i found one (change the language preference in IE from german to english) but hardly anybody knows this.

this is especially ridiculous as google looks for german and japanese speakers for their HQ - openings people in europe or japan will never see.

i feel restricted in my freedom to see the page i want. if they want to have european job openings they can post it on europe.google.com or on a country domain. when i go to google.com i want to see google.com.

I agree mueslie. Google does seem rather fond of Cloaking (urr...sorry..."IP delivery").

I also resent being force-fed with google.ca.

My target audience is in the US and I want to be able to see what they see.

For reasons unknown to me, when I use Opera, Google forces me to the Google Japan site, and I can't switch to the .com version no matter what I do. Changing Opera to identify itself as IE or Mozilla is ineffectual. This does not happen if I use IE :o.
