[fortune.com]

"Teoma.com

"Quality of results: Frequently returns dead or irrelevant links. (This -- along with the site's other quirks -- will presumably be addressed soon when Teoma starts to use Google's listings, reflecting a deal the two recently signed.)"

And if so, what about Askjeeves?

AJ will start using Google AdWords listings soon, but I wonder if the writer of this article is confusing AdWords and "Google's Listings" . . .

See [webmasterworld.com...] (one of the footnotes to the chart).

Great find! Actually, I'm stunned. But why not? AltaVista and Ink might as well jump on the bandwagon, too. Save money! Toss out your own index, use Google's, just brand it as your own (as Lycos does with FAST). Geez....

They are referring to the AdWords advertising deal.

OK, that means I am less stunned.

No. This article actually stated Teoma will use Google listings, and the writer mentions that this may improve what she thought was poor Teoma performance. Of course, she may have got her facts wrong.

If true, I am re-stunned.

If true, I'd be stunned that a journalist in the mainstream business press knew more about a deal between two search engines than did WebmasterWorld regulars.

I don't expect to be stunned -- I suspect that the writer misunderstood the particulars of the deal.

IMHO - this is referring to Adwords. Google got a B+ and serves up duplicate links, MSN gives more relevant result at the top and top SE is Yahoo with an A grade.

Don't dispute the opinions (everyone is entitled to their own) - just accept that is what these are!
