Just wondering, by what date must I finish all my changes by and get them in the September update, in your opinion? Want to make sure I don't miss it.

Thaks.

Most definitely. Do NOT hesitate. The time to be thinking of updates is as SOON as the dance begins. In fact, Googlebot seems to like crawling deep even a little before the dance starts.

IMHO, the cut off date is just before or at almost the same time as the start of the update. So you may already have missed it. Nevetheless links from your freshed pages may turn up for a few days every now or or then for the next month, but wont really be "pemanant" until the October update.

Shucks. Well I made some "emergency fixes" until I get everything the way I want, hopefully I will be included next time around since it didn't like my site this time around. :)

Thanks.

Google's Historical Updates [webmasterworld.com]

This should give a good indication.

Sometimes seems G works one month/update behind, in other words it always has an update "in the bank".

You should have until around the 3rd-4th of next month to get those new pages up. The web is one huge sausage so it does take a while for the The Fonz to find everything....

The 3rd or the 4th of September might be about as late as you can get, and even then it's possible that the sites will not show up very well in the September update.

If you wait that long it might be a good idea to make sure your new pages are linked from your homepage, so Googlebot will have a better chance of discovering them late in the cycle.

I am working on October content, I will publish it during the dance.

There is a good chance the high PR pages will get indexed sooner than low PR pages. High PR pages or other pages with something Googlebot has an interest in have a high chance of being reindexed later in the cycle. If you update the links to the page late googlebot may not give you credit for all of your links. And if the page is late and gets spidered before the content ... you wont get credit for the content googlebot does not see.
