I have a few websites that are very well listed on Google and some other search engines. Now I plan to change the Server and as a result of which, the I.P of all the websites will change. I think all these websites have the same I.P which is very well indexed by Google and visited by its spiders regularly. Whenever I host a new website (of course with unique content and domain), it gets listed in Google from 4-5 weeks and most of the sites are doing fairly well.

My major concern now is that we are altogether moving to a new server and would be assigned a different I.P address (single) for all these websites. Would that affect their rankings and indexing period with Google? Some of these website are also listed on Open Directory for your information and have a good link popularity.

Please advise as to how a new I.P can effect a website’s rankings and any other issues related to it. ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Best Regards

From what I hear - it's not a problem. Just make sure you leave your content on the old servers until you see googlebot in your logs on the new box.

If you can, change the name servers that are authoritative of those domains. That might speed things up a bit, otherwise google might keep hitting the old box for a while.
