Google likes links in paragraphs better than links at the bottom

This came up on another thread, I tend to agree, but it's simply a gut feeling.
Anything concrete on this?

Well, logically thinking..

Links in a paragraph are surrounded by text, generally relevant text, thus *could* have more weight than a list of text links jammed at the bottom of a page.

I've seen a pretty good distribution throughout the page. Are you thinking about occurences of single words, or exact phrases?

Actually, I think all spider based SE's like links within paragraphs. Bookmarks too!

Whenever you need to reference another section of the site, I find that links within paragraphs, doesn't matter where they are, help both the user and add weight to the internal linking structure of the site. I have no solid evidence on Bookmarks, but I've been using them as a standard design practice for years. Started adding the <a title> to them a year or so ago.
