I have noticed some updates since the last update, some of my pages have come back from the deep and were cached 13 Aug 2002 however no Googlebot has shown up in my log for some time now. Anyone else noticing anything similar?

I have noticed subtle changes in SERP's for our kw's the last few days. The top few positions have been juggled around a bit. It moved us back to #1.

The only thing I noticed with our site was a change in the site description. We are still number one for our keywords, however.

lazerzubb,

you are right. Last time I saw so many Fresh! pages was about two weeks ago or so as far as I could track down recently. Mid-month freshness!

WebmasterWorld for example has about 393 fresh pages at the moment (a lot of member profile pages - and - also yours ;) ), as checked with http://www.researchbuzz.com/toolbox/goofresh.shtml and also mentioned in this thread: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum19/650.htm

The researchbuzz tool is not perfect though, it does miss out on some fresh pages. Google is also not perfect in determining what should be fresh, check the researchbuzz tool for a search on "feedback", = 6190 pages that should be the least interesting for searchers..

Heh - Cool. I think I was the first person to use the term "everflux." I feel important. :)

That goo fresh tool is cool, but it baffles me sometimes. I've got (at varying times throughout the month) several pages from my linkto list that are freshed, yet I still can't get the bugger to even touch my site outside of the crawl. You'd think that at PR 5 for the front page (where 80% of these freshed links are coming from) would at least warrant a "hit" from the bot to see if it changed, whether it actually freshes it or not. I'd guess that on my front page, less than 40% of the text on it is the same as the last time goooglebot visited. (The 7th).

Oh well.

Since the last update we've seen googlebot almost daily, and have been getting refreshed every other day, but during the last 10 days it's been daily.

Yeah I have had a fresh front page every day for the last week and have been enjoying doing some on page optimisation.

I've managed to climb from 8th to 6th on my main keyword, held third place on my main keyphrase and got a third out of nowhere on a 100 visitor a day keyphrase.

Go Google, may you flux forever.

I've never seen this- I added pages mid update, post googlebot visiting (or so I thought...) - and they were added immediately and began ranking top 10 for relatively competitive keywords. I was thinking "GREAT!" but today they're gone.

A little strange, no? I hope they come back soon.

Crawled my entire site Aug 1 -5.
I have alot of new links pointing in.(none before)
4 of them from PR6 pages with about 6 outgoing links on each of the 4.
I have not seen any of may pages change at all. :(

I guess I spoke too soon. Our fresh date is gone and so are the ransom notes. Is anyone else seeing meta descriptions on www?

Ok, now I am getting a bit worried. I lost my PR last month, so I've been trying like crazy to make my site more google friendly. Googlebot came back 15 times this month, but she has not come back for over a week. The last page she took was my links page, which I think was causing a problem, and she has not been back since.

Do I have to just cross my fingers for the next couple of weeks, and hope I make it back into the next update?

I was thinking "GREAT!" but today they're gone.

Same here, I've had it happen a few times. I guess it comes down to trying to maintain 'freshness'. I am about to experiment with creating pages that alter slightly on a daily basis and see if that can sustain them in the index till the next update.

My profile site was back yesterday, but now it's been replaced by the site that knocked me off the index this update (as they have cached it's front page and therefore created a duplicate...yet the original has been booted)

But I have seen Google do this for a long time. I think Google is always tweaking and adding/indexing the index with the one big whammy update every month. It only seems odd when it's your site going through this ;)
