(1) I have pages with many <a href=image.jpg> but the picture is in fact located at [mydomain.com...] It works well because I have in <head> <base href=http://mydomain.com/dir/dir2/> tag which adds to each <a href> on the page the absolute path (the one from <base href>). I wonder if Google knows (and uses) the <base href> tag, know it somebody? I'm not sure.
(2) If I have many external links to various pages on my domain (e.g. [mydomain.com...] does it affect PR of mydomain.com itself?
(3) Is possible to get higher my PR if the external links are only from PR 0 pages? I think not but ...:-)

(1) Don't know!
(2) Links out do not effect pr of a page. Links in, either from external sites or internal pages effect pr. The pr of a page is shared amoungst the links out. So a page which is pr5 will still be pr5 if it has one link out or 100. But the 'value' of each link out is reduced the more there are.
(3) No.
Yes, if the links in go to an internal page and that page has a link to your home page, then the pr will flow through to your home page. But remember two things:
1) If you have several links out of that internal page, the pr will be divided between them. So if you have 5 sites (from external servers) linking to www.mydomain.com/page1.html and on this page you have 3 links out to:
www.mydomain.com
www.mydomain.com/page2.html
www.anotherdomain.com
then each of these will recieve 1/3 of the pr gained from the page.
2) PR will only travel through links that spiders can follow. So any cgi links will not work. Hard links are best.
If most of your links in go to an internal page, you may end up with that page having a higher PR than the home page! This may never be a problem, but make sure the page is optimised as it may be your highest potential ranking page, and make sure that the page is a sensible page for visitors to enter your site.
You now get into "pr flow " throughout your site. Basically if we accept internal links will carry pr, then (ignoring external links in for a moment) the home page has the most links back to it and will benefit from all those internal pages pr. But if not all the pages link back to the home page, but instead link to another internal page. Then this page may end up with the highest pr. If none of the internal pages link back to the home page, then the home page does not benefit from any of its internal pages and will have a lower pr than it should.
The reason you may want to direct pr throughout your site, is to make two or three pages have as much pr as possible to be competative for targeted keywords.

Really? I understand that with more links pr of page is lower, but I don't thing the ultimate pr is only devided by numbers of links. I suppose you gave only simple example:-)

The number of links out does not effect pr of a page. PR is calculated by links in.... so you can have 1 or 50 and the page will still have the same pr. But the pr passed on via the links will become less the more links you have out.
