Pagerank transfer w/ multiple links

Does Google discount multiple link from one site?

I may have the opportunity to get one or more links from a site with a PageRank of 8 on its home page. This site has several internal pages which also have a PageRank of 8. If I get links from multiple pages of this site, would this count the same as links from two separate sites with the same PageRank, or does Google somehow discount the PageRank transfer effect for multiple links from a single site?

I'm also wondering if I should have both links go to my home page, or if I should have the second link go to an internal page of my site.

Currently, my home page has a pagerank of 5, as do most of the internal pages that my home page links to. Any idea how much a boost I will get from the pagerank 8 link?

In answer to your first question, PageRank is per-page and not per-site, and I've never seen any evidence that there is, or even any speculation that there might be, any kind of adjustment given for links from more than one page of the same site.

Should the second link go to an internal page? Depends on how you want to manage your site's PR. If you have an internal page for which you'd like to try to increase PageRank, it might be worth linking directly to it.

How much a boost from the pagerank 8 link? Depends on a couple of things, like how many other links that PR8 page has, and how many other backward links your target page has. And to some extent on black magic.
