how does google feel about framed sites? if i use the <noframes> tag and put really good content will google give my page a good page rank? the breakdown of the frameset would be something like this:

framesetpage = the frameset page with the <noframes> tag and text and keywords within that tag.

topframe = just a generic text only page with keywords and heading tags using the keywords.

mainframe = the 'real' page that i would like people to see with all the pretty graphics and page content.

would google look upon this as favorable?

thanks,

I have one site where I'm using the same technique, and it's doing very well on Google, although it's not exactly in a high competition area. On the other hand I would not use frames for any other of my sites. You always have the problem that the single frame pages might be indexed, or you include some Javascript that redirects anyone trying to open a frame to the main page with the frameset. But that doesn't work for people who have turned off Javascript. Frames for me? Rather NO than yes.

I have inherited a framed site and by using the <noframes> tag sensibly, Google has given me positions between 1 and 8 for the 6 primary dearch terms shared between the <noframes> tag and individual pages.

The category is not very competitive and I do use frame forcing script.

Definately the wrong route to go if you are starting from scratch. It is hard work and a bit unpredictable.

If a visitor has javascript turned off (as some do), they will arrive at an orphaned page. Not good for them or the site.

Welcome to the board ventura. Give the site search function a go. The noframes discussion has been discussed many times. As far as I can tell, there's not alot new to add to what's been previously discussed.
