Resubmission to Google and Penalties

does resubmission hasten the process?

Does anyone out there have an informed guess as to the impact of resubmission if you have had domains penalized? If you have squeaky cleaned the sites, will it hasten the removal of the penalty?

According to those posters here who have been penalised and then tried this, it doesn't seem to help.

Also, removing the site from Google and then trying to get back in doesn't seem to help either.

Thanks CIML:

I never paid much attention to SEO until now and have been burned by a linking group I got involved in several years ago. All of my profitable sites are down the drain now with obvious google penalties. I wondered what was up and discovered this forum and several other resources in the past two weeks and determined what the problem was....ugggh. My profits were cut by 65% on my sites.

I have been corressponding with many of my compatriots who have been at this many years, and our old-timer way of doing the net is definitely clashing with the new world of Google - I guess we all just have to change, and become intimately familar with SEO ala Google in order to avoid being hit with penalties unawares.
