I've had a nice deep crawl starting with a few pages on Monday, and most of my pages yesterday.

Anyone else getting crawled, and if so, what's your PR? My PR is an estimated high 5.

Great post KatenBatael!

I see the Bad google model in action the last few updates. It is actually a good thing from a Google and maybe even user point of view in that its doesent allow SEO's the same "windows" to make those crafty little changes!

Thank you, Katen. That clears it up. I had always worked with/assumed a "good" Google, but now see that it can be either way, depending... Thanks!

Thanks, Chiyo. I've had mostly "good" updates recently, albeit often with a very limited update window. I suspect that's because my site has a relatively lower PR than your site(s), and thus gets crawled later in the crawl cycle.

Yes, I agree that it's probably better for Google and the general user to reduce an SEO's opportunity to learn by experience. This is one way to do that. It's because of this that I don't think there's much chance of Google making changes that allow people to easily learn why their site has been penalised/banned. Security by obscurity.
