Google Speak on the Today Show

As I was getting ready for work this moring I had the Today Show on and I heard "Top search engines" or something similar. I zoomed over to the TV and they were showing this weeks top search terms and a big GOOGLE logo was on the screen. After showing the top phrases Katie said "when people GOOGLE a topic they mean reserch it" or something very similar.

Way to go Google!

Yeah, they launched this last week with a rather long piece about Google. They are now doing a weekly spot showing the top 5 google search phrases every wed morning.

Well, that ought to be interesting. No doubt some phrases are adult related. And the Today Show publicity ought to boost their market share even more. Wow.

The results appeared filtered... No adult phrases or things like "yahoo.com" they were all people or current events...

Edited to remove the porn? You mean I have been waisting my time searching for porn over and over again to try and get it in the list?

Thats probably a good idea do you really want to interduce little billy watching the today show with mommy to have to ask what is [insert some umm weird sexual thing here]?

I think its cool they are getting some play this way. I think it will be interesting to see how this effects there usage. I still meet people that dont know what google is.

Maybe next they'll talk about Googlewhacking. If they don't edit the term thinking it's some kind of sexual thing.
