This has probably been covered before but I could not find it.

I would like to build ONE site and have 2 domain names (widget.com and widget.co.uk) both point to the same site.

Would Google or any other significant Search Engine take offence at this??

afaik you will not be penalized by any of the significant search engines as long as you only submit one of your domains. I have a website with to domains pointing to it and because I only use one domain for the search engines I have never had any problems.

If you were going to do that you would probably want to keep one domain completely out of the search engines, so you'd have to make sure no one else linked to it either.

Personally I would use HTTP redirection from one to the other.

Another approach is to ban spidering of one by /robots.txt, and hope that people link to the other.
