Our new main site currently has a 3 PR for the front page and predicted 2 PR for the new sub pages. It has in excess of 1,000 quality inbound links by that I mean links that Google would pick up, I think, if we hadn't been banned for a problem with our old site.
My question to you is will Google give us a new chance since we have now revamped our site to get rid of what I think was causing the problem? All feedback and comments from people with experience would be helpful. Perhaps a quick clarification from Googleguy would be great too if that's not too cheeky :)
In our old site we had lots of information about our services and as you got deeper in to the site you could click for more information and it would appear in a pop-up window for you. I think we ran in to trouble basically when our design was such that if you entered these pop-up windows directly as a spider would then you would get redirected to our front page straight away because they were pop-ups and would look silly as pages on there own. This wasn't an intentional spamming technique or anything but more for usability so people accidentally going to the info page which wasn't properly formatted would enter through the front page instead and then navigate to find the info page again.
Anyway I think this was our problem because I can't think of anything else we did to get banned from Google many months ago when PR0 first started.
Basically we have a relevant site with good content and we made a mistake which we have been quite unfairly penalised for I think.
The question is will Google forgive us on the next update because of our new site. It hasn't done a deep spider of the site yet but has visited it every one or two days only hitting on or two pages each time.
Any comments or advice on this would be much appreciated.
All the best.
Brendan

I think the front page should be a 7 or 6 at a minimum. But the inbound links are not showing up because our page is a PR3 which I think was caused by the fact it used to effectively be an orphan page with a PR3 from pur external links because all the internal site pages it linked to were PR0 before we launched the new site. But I am positive that it shouldn't be a three if we are not being penalised on the next update because a few updates ago we showed 600 inbound links but had a PR4and these are links from 6/7 PR pages as well.
Anyway I guess we will wait and see what happens :)
Most sites 0 Ranked (due to a penalty mind!) tend to have a rank of 3-4 on the Index page and all of the internal pages 0 ranked....
your symptoms are exactly the same as a lot of people have been reporting here - where a so called "recovery" from pr0 has ended in a pr3 with pr2-1 on internal pages. There is no reason why it should not be back at pr5 or 6 even.
yep, a fair number of people, me included, with that problem INCLUDING pr1-2 on internal pages. its STILL a penalty i think.
To be pessimistic, i can't see ANY sign of this changing. one of my sites has been like it for 3 months now and NO MOVEMENT WHAT SO EVER.
I'm thinking of changing to another url. I'm not sure if these will actually come back.
Best thing to do is keep on e-mailing the 'plex. Yes, I know, but there is little else that can be done. I thought of flying over to America to cry and beg in their front enterance but I would probably get arrested.
