Just the other day I used the format
link:www. yoursite.com and it worked, It's not working now. I would be curious to know the difference in + and link:

I think link: is what Google uses for PR, whereas +www just lists inbound links from within the site and outside. Link: is not working in Alberta.

+ just includes any pages containing the text, not necessarily the hyperlink

Unusually, I think somehow that Googles servers are slow tonight. It was stalling on some of my searches earlier (from the UK), so maybe, just maybe on this blue moon Google was slower than usual :)

So is this an indication of what Americans do on midweek holidays?

This is what I copied from one of Brett's posts, I think:

"How do I find how many pages Google has indexed from my site? One possibility is a combination of the site attribute and the + attribute. The site attribute specifies that the search should be restricted to this domain. The + is used in front of www and com because www and com are stop words."

And...it's back. only down for an hour.
But hey, it was something I found. I rarely find anything that someone else didn't see first, so I posted it.

If you type link:www.yourdomain.com +(any term),
it works. Same goes for site:

CORRECTION: still not working
(does work for site, but of course it always worked that way)

This is getting annoying! Can't they keep this feature on. It has been off for the last 20 minutes.

Hey, the link: command should work fine now. Post a follow-up if you see problems after now.

Your friendly neighborhood GoogleGuy..
