Links from ads sold and google??

Will links created for paid advertising create problems in PR?

I have recently started selling advertising on my site in the form of stationary banners, buttons, and text links.

My question is: How will Google interpret these links and how can I make it plain it is paid advertising and not more linking strategy?

I will of course sell ads to anyone who wants them, relavent or not to my site contents, Ie: joe blow sells green whatevers and nancy drew sells comic books, but I worry about how to show they are ads since they are monthly paid and not rotating ppc or impressions.

They are placed on various pages at the choice of the advertiser so I cannot isolate them and do a robots exclusion.

Anyone? Please?

why would you not want your advertiser get the benefit of a link too?. after all they are paying?? if someone is so bad and you are accepting advertising from them, then don't you think you should be considered the same way as a bad link would normally entail a site to?

I'm not saying I don't as I have other regular links to these sites also.

What I am asking, since I have read elsewhere that there may be a penalty to sites that multiple link to other sites is simply this: The ads from any one site can be and are on several pages of my site so what will google make of so many links to the same site?

Just wondering what the great googlebot will do with that info?

Don't worry too much about these penalties. Linking to a site in more than one place is fine.

if you use javascript in <a> tag, you should be OK.
Google does not follow javascript

Ann- in my experience with trying to sell a product on my sites, the sites that contain the ads Google was OK with. The site to which the ads sent the visitors got the PR0.

thayer, I am not sure if I understood you correctly. You do not mean to say that advertisers are given PR0 if they place multiple ads on a site!.
IMHO, if a site is linking to "bad neighborhood" (via ads or links or otherwise), the site that is doing this is likely to be meted with PR0 punishment.
