Google Search Request Bug

Search query gives 403 error page!

When searching Google for site:somesite.com inurl:index.php things go wrong inside the engine.

Try google.com/search?q=site:google.com+inurl:index.php [google.com] and click the next page link, or go directly to: google.com/search?q=site:google.com+inurl:index.php&start=10 [google.com]

It shows a '403 Forbidden' error page saying your computer is infected by a virus or spyware sending automated requests...

Has this been reported before?

Regards, Mr_PHP / Arno

Not a bug, it's been put in place to halt the santy virus since it uses google to find it's victims.

some page that pops up suggesting my computer (and apparently erveryone's?) is infected is an odd duckfor the peeps at G to have 'put in place'. Why not simply explain it for what it is. Some folks who don't read atplaces like this might get disturbed to stumbleupon such a message. Oh well, maybe I'm just tired.

First discussed on Jan 3 (to my knowledge). This error occurs for any inurl: search on .php scripts (inurl:go.php, inurl:index.php, inurl:tracker2.php, etc....).

[webmasterworld.com...] msg #80.

At first, I was hopeful that it was a sign that Google was working on the redirect/hijacking issue. But, as Netscan says, it is probably related to the Santy virus.

this is different - look at the site:google.com qualifier and the results returned from catalogcity.

> the redirect/hijacking issue

that is what I thought 2 crobb.

Thanks for the replies.
Strange Google does not just show a clear error message.
Also strange Google just blocks any inurl:*.php searches from the 2nd page.

I noticed this when I wanted to find out which pages of my old non-SEO'd site were still in the index.
