Hi everyone,
I am new to this so hopefuly I can make this make sense. I have google adsense on my website. when I look at my websites stats for robots it says that googlebot has visited my site 104 times total, almost once everyday. As I understand it this is them scanning my page for adsense keywords everytime I change the adsense code. My question is, is this the same thing as when your page is spidered for the search engine? Or does the bot just look at that one page with adsense and ignore the others? If there is a diffrence is there a way to tell when the bot was there for adsense and when it was spidering? I am starting SEO and am confused. I have added lots of pages since I was first spidered and none are indexed yet. So I am assuming that adsense and spidering are diffrent. Any help would be great.

Yes, they are 2 totally different bots. I can tell the difference by looking at the user agent in my logs. The adsense bot is mediapartners, i belive. The regular bot is just googlebot.

Welcome Mcadieux,

Google uses googlebot to spider for their search index and a seperate spider called Mediapartners-Google to spider adsense pages. If you have further questions about adsense you should visit the Adsense forum [webmasterworld.com]. Since you are new you probably also want to visit New to Web Development Forum [webmasterworld.com].
